Internal Publisher Product Prototype

The Venetian Virtual Archive is on-line: here you can find digitised images of cartographic materials originally housed at the Venice State Archive, the Marciana National Library of Venice, the Österreichisches Staatsarchiv in Vienna and other institutes. Each document is also catalogued and descripted following the VENIVA methodology.

Take a look to the VENIVA Historical Archive Prototype with full research and queries capabilities containing 1.500 images of old manuscript carthographic materials coming from the various conservation institutes that had participated to VENIVA Project.


External Publisher Product Prototype

To demonstrate the feasability of the publishing concept and to investigate the market opportunities for such products the VENIVA consortium produced a prototypical implementation of an external publisher's product showing the combination of archival an editorial material. Such products will later be produced using the services of VENIVA to handle the interaction with the archive material.

A Virtual Tour in the Venetian Historical Sources brings together material from different archives located in various european countries. The topic of the virtual exhibition is the historical development of the Venetian state from the early 16th century to the 18th century.

Jacopo de' Barbari e le vedute di Venezia is the new publication on-line: it offers a digitised copy of the whole map, an archive of important journal articles on the subject, an archive of digitised primary sources (including maps, manuscripts and sketches), a high-quality guided tour through the most debated questions related to this document. Some documents have also been catalogued and described following the VENIVA methodology.
