In the 1920s and 1930s in Italy there developed the phenomenon of the cinema stars. Within the European and North-American context, the birth of the star type was a signal of the variations that female iconography had undergone from the origins of the silent cinema to the 1930s.

The multimedia work is structured into several paths through which the author attempts to reconstruct the image of the woman -- i.e. the femme fatale, the angel, the pursued young girl, the natural woman or the seducer. You can also find a rich filmography linked to explanatory cards, a bibliography and the list of the protagonists of that significant era in film history.
